Here it is, this moment at the beginning of the year … to set your new resolutions. So, how long are you gonna hold on to it this year? I’m kidding. I find it really good to set challenges … The thing is, in my opinion, you have to determine achievable goals … Yes, yes, I insist and especially whatever you do, do it for love of yourself.
There is a start for everything. So, let’s go in order.
Choose one or two goals
Among the most common, you’ll obviously find exercising, drinking less coffee (that’s for me), quitting smoking, healthy eating or diet, financial health. But, those years, there are new beautiful trends growing to live in “slow” mode such as digital detox or slow cosmetic.
Talking about slow cosmetic, I had the honor to talk with the founder of this movement AKA Julien Kaibecq, who was kind enough to offer me a “slow” tip for the beginning of the year, ideal to discover the benefits of naturalness in the bathroom. And I hasten to share it with you:
“By mixing, for instance, 1 tablespoon of brewed coffee grounds with 1 tablespoon of olive or Argan oil, you get an exfoliating paste to massage your wet skin in the shower. The result? A softer skin, well detoxified and a slightly rebooted complexion!”
Merci Julien !
Having said that, it does not matter what your resolutions are, what matters, and we won’t say it enough, is to choose one or two goals rather than fight on all fronts at the same time and achieve nothing.
Make a list of steps to acheive your gaol(s)
Make a to-do-list or schedule of the week to stick on the fridge and think of everything you can do to reach success. You can also hang a little blackboard in the kitchen or in your bedroom with a leitmotif, a small encouraging phrase that you can change every week! Also inspire yourself by reading. There are good ideas to take with our writers (I’ll give you two references at the end of this blog)!
Celebrate small victories
Reward yourself with what makes you feel good. A small massage or a haircut.
Don’t hesitate to thank those who help you on a daily basis to fulfill your objectives.
Learn something new
Have you always dreamed of playing guitar, drawing, or making furniture yourself? It’s time to start! And who knows? You may discover that you’re gifted!
The power of the group
It works pretty well for sports. If you like company, I would advise you to join a group near your place. You will meet new people and might know a few neighbors. The group motivates. In the same time, be careful! Trying to reach your goal with your best friend may involve some risks. Your running session could quickly turn into a good TV-pizza evening!
Do what you love
There are of course efforts to provide to hold on but especially in everything you undertake, get moments of relaxation, small pleasures. Indulge yourself. You will have more luck to succeed!
OK, shall we start ?
