Maybe you’ve already got a visit from the children from the neighbourhood for Holloween. The kids from the school in front of my house came on Friday! So much fun!
I think it’s great and my darlings get caught each year disguising themselves and preparing a huge basket of sweets.
This year, don’t hesitate to prepare yourself for Halloween. Even if it is less present in Belgium than in the Anglo-Saxon countries, it still gains ground over here. And whether the trick-or-treaters will pass or not, it’s always nice to have a nice seasonal decoration.
Here are some must-haves easy to prepare:
The famous pumpkin
First draw lightly the eyes, nose and mouth with a knife. It’s easier to cut if you follow the lines as the skin is sick. Insert one or more candles into the squash before placing it near a window at the front of your house.
If you’re not into cutting pumpkin skin, place several types of squash on the steps or the doorway. You can also decorate them using pins for example.
The autumn wreath
We already know the Christmas wreath, but why not make yourself a beautiful autumn wreath with straw, twigs or rope, dried flowers or fabric in shades of ocher, white and orange. This immediately gives a perfect look to your door. And I would even say it’s nice to come back from a day of work and be greeted by a wreath of flowers.
You do not have the time ? Some shops offer autumnal wreaths at very affordable prices.
Spider webs, witch, scarecrow, etc.
The little accessories that make the atmosphere of Halloween. You will find easily in the shops some small cheap trinkets to decorate your house. If you are not a fan of spiders, opt for a witch, a scarecrow, an old watering can, corn …
The candy basket
Do not forget it and especially indicate on your door that the children can ring the bell!
Trick or treat ?
