Painting is a good way to give a fresh look or a new look to your interior. You’ll find some suggestions to help you choosing colours
Choose the painting according to colour psychology
- The living room. To stimulate speech, go for red, yellow, orange or brown tones. These warm colours encourage interactions.
- The kitchen. White and blue could work well in these rooms if you are nostalgic of the good dishes of your mother. Red and yellow also work. Unless you’re on a diet … Red and orange are known to stimulate appetite.
- Bedrooms. Although red might be a good choice if you think about love and passion, it’s not ideal in a bedroom. To facilitate sleep, it is recommended to use cold colours such as blue, light green or lavender.
- The bathroom is the ultimate place of relaxation especially if you are a bit of a bubble bath addict. The ideal is then to choose colours inspired by “baths and spa” such as turquoise, blue and green.
- The Office. If you are lucky enough to be able to do Home Working and spend several hours in a row in your office, the colour green is apparently the most appropriate according to the experts.
Choose harmonious hues between the different rooms:
- Most people are reluctant to choose a different colour for each room. You can get great results by working on the different tones of one colour.
- If your home is loaded with wall decorations and trinkets, you could use it as an inspiration for choosing the colours of your walls.
- You can also select two or three colours, alternate it from one room to another and decorate with accessories that reminds the colour in the other rooms.
