A gift for DIY dads

To get off the beaten track and avoid the eternal bottle of wine, the perfume box or the super high tech drilling rig, I propose a little gift idea especially if your dad is a handyman! Why not surprising him cleaning his garage or cellar? Sunday is Father’s Day and after all, it’s a pretty good idea to surprise him! In the makeover series, I have some ideas to (re) organize his “lair”.

Sort his toolboxes
tools

I am sure of it. If your beloved dad is a DIY pro, he has at least 2 see 3 … big toolboxes (maybe even 4). I’is better to keep one so that he can play Mr. handyman throughout the house. But for the rest, with some wood boards and some nails, we get in a jiffy a display to store his tools and make his life easier!

And hop, the wheels in the air

Nothing more annoying for him, I assure you, to take his feet in the bunch of bikes. Give him space by hanging your two wheels on the ceiling (great storage space by the way). It is a space saving for him and very good for your biceps!

Tidy shelves

Nails, screws, colsons, nuts etc, in transparent pots, stored on shelves (or below but in this case, paste the lid of the pot on the underside of the shelf), it’s very convenient. The goal is that he has access to his tools quickly and that everything is tidy.

A big cleaning

The basement and the garage are generally quite dusty places … especially if he tinkers. So think before inviting him into his revoked “workstudio“, to vacuum or sweep and clean with water if possible.

Tinker with music

Install a small radio or Bluetooth speaker. It’s more fun to tinker with music. You could even prepare a playlist with his favorite tubes!

Store in a storage unit

For sure, there are some things in the garage or basement that he does not need but that can prevent him from tinkering at his ease. I think of skis, boxes of souvenirs, or objects that we don’t use often. Think in this case to rent a storage unit. Lokabox can of course help you. We offer spaces to store a few things.

Happy father's day

A small gift

And why not putting a frame with a photo of you baby, for example, in the arms of your dear dad, on his workbench or worktop! He will be very touched and will think (even more of you) when he works on his new project like a garden table with pallet wood.

And to all the dads up there, happy father’s day!
