Not easy and I know what I’m talking about… I am part of the big family of divorced people of this world. We agree, it’s not fun. But this is not the subject here. Today but I’d rather talk to you about how to organize afterwards. Here are some thoughts and advice that personally helped me to turn the page and write a new one.
No more “we”, you must create your own home
Whether you stay in the house you’ve lived together or decide to move to another one, it is urgent to create as soon as possible a nest in which you will feel good (and your children as well). Keep “painful memories” objects away and replace them with accessories that are good to you and that put you in a good mood. Decorate your place to your own taste. Take a walk through the flea markets on Sundays. You might find a bunch of small objects, frames, statuettes, pots of flowers, even small or large furniture if you need it, and at a very democratic price.
Do not be in a hurry to find love again
Have fun! Get out, get moving, play sports with friends, go to the restaurant, to the movies if finances are well enough but do not go too fast to look for love. Overall, take your time. We are sometimes extremely fragile after a break-up and we need comfort or feeling loved. But living a second breakup in a row can put you in a very bad state.
You are not alone
Break-ups sometimes rhymes with loneliness. But I think I have never been so in touch with new faces. It’s a good thing and it changes your mind. And who knows, there may be some soul out there or in your inner circle who is in the same situation.
One day my prince will come (or my princess)
Obviously, that’s all the good I wish you! And if that happens, so much the better. Enjoy it! But once again, go easy even if life is short. Before you dive into life together (and especially if there are children), take your time to live and discover.
Oh I almost forgot… If you decide to move together, there will be duplicate stuff, is not it?
Of course, we‘re here to help and to provide you with space. ? Beautiful (new) life!
