The holidays are slowly coming to an end. I hope you enjoyed it! In order to start this new school year, I have concocted some practical tips for the organization of the whole family.
– A weekly calendar on the fridge
To make sure you don’t forget anything, centralise on a planning school activities (swimming lessons, gym) or extracurricular (scouts, basketball, piano, …), nights out as well as your shopping list on the fridge for example. The whole family will therefore be able to view, add or modify it. Print a few weeks / month in advance (via your online calendar). Use a few magnets and you’re done. Once the week or month has passed, reuse the back of the sheet for the kids (drawing, dictation…). You can also choose the magnetic board or blackboard option if you have the room for it (you won’t waste paper then).
– A container for important documents
It may have happened to you before: you have lost an important paper for school. At the beginning of the year, parents are sometimes overwhelmed with documents to complete and sign. Take good habits from the start, by installing in a strategic place, a box or a basket large enough to drop all documents not to lose! And if you are the type person who doesn’t remember where you put your keys or wallet, dedicate a place just for that!
– A corner for clothes
Maybe you are among those who have very little time in the morning. An effective way for the entire family to be ready as quickly as possible is to ask everyone to prepare the clothes (and accessories 😉) the day before or Sunday evening for the whole week, placing them on a shelf or in a wardrobe.
– A school supplies box
“Mom, I do not have color pencils anymore!” Sounds familiar? Get a nice box or upgrade an old drawer of a dresser (why not with your children?). During your shopping, do not hesitate about the quantities of black or color pencils, erasers, markers, jars of glue, papers … Yes they use them a lot, our cherubs!
